Rotely is a flashcard app for revision, language learning and other study. Create packs with custom colours, descriptions and author names, then add questions and answers with images or videos. Choose a study mode to review every card, fit in a shorter session or focus on cards you find difficult. You can also hear cards read aloud, share packs as .rotely files and sync them across iPhone, iPad and Mac using iCloud.

What it does

Three study modes

Full Mode reviews every card in a pack. Quick Mode is for shorter sessions, while Improve Mode focuses on cards you struggle with and rotates older cards back in.

Answer suggestions

Rotely can suggest answers to flashcard questions using on-device AI. This requires an Apple Intelligence capable device.

Images and videos

Add images to flashcards and embed videos for demonstrations or explanations.

Text-to-speech

Hear flashcard questions and answers read aloud.

Custom packs

Create unlimited packs and add custom colours, descriptions and author names.

Pack sharing

Share packs with other people using .rotely files.

iCloud sync

Sync your flashcards across iPhone, iPad and the native Mac app using iCloud.

What is the difference between the study modes?
Full Mode reviews every card in a pack. Quick Mode is for shorter sessions. Improve Mode focuses on cards you struggle with and rotates older cards back in.
Do AI answer suggestions work on every device?
No. On-device AI answer suggestions require an Apple Intelligence capable device.
Can I add images or videos to flashcards?
Yes. You can add images and embed videos in flashcards.
Can I share a pack with someone else?
Yes. Rotely shares packs using the .rotely file format.
Can I use Rotely on a Mac?
Yes. Rotely has a native Mac app and uses iCloud to sync flashcards across iPhone, iPad and Mac.
